Well, apparently they’re being investigated for still more hate crimes on election night:
The two Staten Island teenagers accused of bludgeoning a black youth in a racially-charged Election night assault are now being investigated on suspicions they ran down a man in Port Richmond later that night because they believed, erroneously, that he was black, multiple law enforcement agencies have told the Advance.
Bryan Garaventa and Ralph Nicoletti, both 18, are suspected in the hit-and-run incident, which knocked 38-year-old Ronald Forte into a coma sometime in the early morning hours of Nov. 5, according to legal authorities and a source close to Forte’s family.
Forte, who is white, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt as he walked in the rain, and the teens may have thought he was black, the law-enforcement sources told the Advance today.
I have one reservation about the new allegations. While it may indeed be the case that they thought he was a black guy, I’m going to need a little more than an anonymous source to believe they hit him. Updates to come as they become available.
